A1 LIST Soccer

LIST (League of Independent School Teams) is a consortium of private and charter school teams that organize a series of co-ed seasons, including soccer, basketball and volleyball specifically for Middle Schools in the Twin Cities.  The philosophy of LIST is to introduce students to these sports, so they are intentionally co-ed and cross grade-level.  LIST also encourages teams to only practice once or twice a week, with games every Friday, so students are exposed to the experience, without it becoming overwhelming or all-encompassing.

Our fall co-ed soccer team is open to 6th, 7th and 8th grade students.  We will begin the season once everyone has returned from Fall trips.  Practices will take place from 3:30 – 5:00pm on Tuesdays, beginning Sept. 16th at McMurray field – which is located just north of Great River School in Como Park.

Games will take place every Friday beginning Sept. 19th and are either scheduled for 4:30 or 5:30 pm.  The league generally publishes the game schedule around Labor Day weekend.  Once we have the schedule, it will be posted on the website and emailed to parents.

League fees for soccer are $75 and can be paid by cash or check at the Front Office.  The two forms needed for participation are included below.

To be eligible for Middle School Athletics:

  1. Have a current physical on file (expires every 3 years)
  2. Pay appropriate registration fees at the beginning of each sport season (make checks out to Great River School)
  3. Sign the Liability Medical Release 2014 form.
  4. Read the Code of Conduct 2014 form.

Winter Sports

Basketball; fee $65 (to be confirmed)

Practices are generally held every Tuesday from 4-5:30 at the Minnehaha Rec Center from early December through mid-February. Games will be on Fridays at various locations around Saint Paul. There is a $65 fee to join. Medical forms and emergency contact information are due this Friday, Dec 2 and should be turned into the front office. Copies of these forms can be found on the school website under A1 athletics. The co-ed team will be coached by Laura Stickney and Jacob Vraa. Never played basketball before but want to learn how? Join today! Students of all abilities and experience are welcome!
