Artemis Lives

DSC_5839smFirst Robotics Team 2491 No Mythic is made up of students from Great River School, Avalon, River’s Edge and Twin Cities Academy Schools. They participate in FIRST Robotics, an internationally known and recognized program that teaches children and young adults how to form creative solutions to technological challenges. The No Mythic team is currently in its 8th year of existence.

In the 2014 season, they hope to compete in the Nationals competition and are striving for the Chairman’s award. In the past they have achieved several awards such as the Team Spirit award which was won by displaying the most team spirit in the regional competition in 2011. The team dyed their hair purple, the coach had a mohawk, and they introduced their unicorn mascot. In 2013 they were awarded the Gracious Professionalism award for helping other teams improve their robots.

On February 18th, this group of excited and slightly crazed young people, bagged up their robot (Artemis)  per First Robotics regulations after the six week build season. Go here to learn about this year’s challenge – Aerial Assist.  They will continue to meet to prepare for their next competition on March 7 in Duluth.  Learn more about them and follow their progress on the No Mythic website.
