Registration for Electives |

This year, all students will register for electives during the summer so they will have a schedule at orientation on September 1. If you were not able to come in to school during the registration sessions, please complete the registration process as soon as possible. Course Sequence for the IB Diploma Candidate GRS Graduation Requirements Adolescent 2 (Grades 9 & 10) NOTE: Please refer to the GRS Graduation Requirement and Suggested Course Sequence for an IB Candidate (above) as you choose your classes. Those students who want to pursue the IB Diploma should sign up for Spanish and either IB Art or IB Music. Theory Of Knowledge will be offered as part of the core classes. Students wlil sign up for those classes on a weekly basis. With the beginning of school just over a month away, it is time to think about fall sports at GRS. Varsity Soccer - location tba Practice for any high school student wishing to try out for the 2010-2011 team (students in grades 9 - 12 or 8th grade with special permission from Enrique Garita, coach) will begin on Tuesday, August 17 and end on September3 when the roster of 18 will be announced. Meeting the Needs of students & families |

Over the next year, the Diversity Committee, formed in 2009, will continue to discuss ways to better address the issues of race, ethnicity, sexuality, and in general, the diverse needs of a diverse group of students. Please read the letter that recently went out to all faculty, families and community members of Great River School to outline the process we will undertake to build our intercultural competency to address some of the related issues. |

The Great River School office is open this summer. Office hours are 10 am to 2 pm, Monday - Friday. These may vary once vacation schedules are approved, so check back if you plan to go to the school. GRS will be closed on the following Mondays - July 26, August 2,9,16,23. Have a great summer. |
