Reporting a Student Absence

At Great River, student safety is a top priority. We use SafeArrival to help families quickly and easily report absences and to ensure all students are accounted for each day.

How to Report an Absence

Please report your child’s absence in advance using one of these options:

1. SchoolMessenger App (SM Home App)

   • Download from the [Apple App Store] or [Google Play Store]

   • Follow instructions in the app to report an absence

2. Website

   • Go to home.schoolmessenger.com

3. Phone

   • Call the toll-free number: 1-888-256-8288

   • Use the automated system to report an absence

   • Important: You must call from the phone number listed in our school records

Good to Know

• You can report absences 24/7.

• You can report future absences anytime.

• If you report an absence through SafeArrival, you will not receive follow-up calls from the automated notification system.

• If an absence is not reported, the SchoolMessenger system will contact you until a reason is provided. If needed, office staff will follow up directly.

• You may also use Safe Arrival to report an early dismissal or late arrival.

Use this form to notify us of any immediate / one-time changes to your student's arrival or departure from GRS. We will reach out to you with any clarifying questions! Thank you kindly!
