Blue Heron Bash: taking a pause

After thoughtful reflection and discussion, Great River School and the Great River School Foundation have jointly decided to temporarily pause the Blue Heron Bash beginning with the 2026–27 school year.

For many years, the Bash has brought together Great River families, staff, alumni, friends, and supporters to celebrate our community and raise important funds for Great River School. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has attended, volunteered, sponsored, donated, and helped make the event possible.

Together, the Foundation and the school are taking this time to consider how our fundraising events and community engagement efforts can best support Great River School and the evolving needs of our community. This pause also gives us an opportunity to be thoughtful about how we use our resources, staff and volunteer capacity, and community energy while continuing to strengthen philanthropy throughout the year.

While the Blue Heron Bash is on pause, the work of the Foundation continues. We remain committed to cultivating resources, partnerships, and opportunities that support Great River students, educators, and families.

Thank you for being part of the Blue Heron Bash and for continuing to support the Great River School community. We look forward to sharing what comes next!
