Our Tiger track and field team just finished their section meet this past Thursday and Saturday (this meet qualifies athletes for state track) and there were some noteworthy performances.

Those that placed in the top 9 of our section are below:

Aima Portwood placed 8th in the 400m and 9th in the 800m dash.

Girls 4x400m relay with Onya Vandarcia, Aima Portwood, Asata Portwood, and 1 Twin Cities Academy athlete placed 6th in sections and set a new school record on Thursday.

Additionally, the following athletes set new school records:

Benjamin Kleman set a personal record and a new school record in the 800m dash.

The boys 4x400m relay with Stinson Walling and 3 other TCA athletes set a new school record.

Finally, our Girl's track team finished first in conference, which is the first time in school history they won conference, and our Boy's track team finished second in conference!

Each of these results were a culmination of all the hard work, dedication, and perseverance by each athlete over the course of the past three months. We had about 75% of our school records broken at some point throughout this season, and it was so fun to watch each athlete grow in their events and continuously encourage other athletes!
